Why is my website running slow?
There are two possibilities. 1) sometimes the Internet provide slows down in peak times. 2) the website is making a lot of database calls and the server is slow to respond.
Regarding issue 2) I have and may request a less busy server. Also, we may install a Word Press plugin called “WP-Cache”. This will help make the pages load faster. The server remembers the information that goes on the page instead of pulling it from the database every time. Thus allowing the page to be visible or down faster.
What are my email settings?
incoming mail is pop.yourdomain.com
outgoing mail is smtp.yourdomain.com
FYI: webmail works best. You can access it from anywhere there is an internet connection. You may browse to mail.yourdomainname.com and use your email address and password.
How do I update my web site?
We program an “Alias” or short cut to your “Admin” login page for your web site. In the address bar type, “admin.yourwebsite.com”. Substitute “yourwebsite” for the name of your web site.
In other words, substitute “admin” in place of the “www” for your URL.
FYI: Copying information from a “Word” document introduces odd/special characters that are misunderstood by browsers. We have to either save the “Word” document as text only or copy and paste the information into a simple word program like notepad to strip off the formating.
